its a sad day,
after having a 7wk baby snowcorn for just a week,
seeing have 1 meal , he/her started to shred
but had trouble ,i helped clean the shred along its tail
has it had green/brown colour to it which i now think might be poo
bathed it run my fingers along the tail and the shred come away
got up this morning but was still laying were i had left him /her
picked it up and was not moving ,.
now im wondering if it was down to me trying to help remove the shred
i just dont know, and properly wont know,
so if anyone new to keeping snakes and has sreding trouble
i would say just take it to the vets to have it checked out,

Sorry for your loss.

You helping to remove the shed wouldn't have killed it.
It sounds like you could of had a poorly snake to begin with.
usually if a snake only lives for a week or so, then that's a sign that there was something wrong before they got to you.
Did you get him from a reputable shop?

If you only had it for a week, i'd take it back to the shop where you got it and ask if they'll replace it.

oh no...im really sorry to hear that...

im pretty sure it wasnt the fact that your bathed it and helped out with a bad shed. As i said last nite i have done it myself, as im sure many others have with no ill effects. I would say there was another under lying problem...

so sorry for your loss.

Agree with what Kehhl said, the snake was probably already poorly before you got your baby, they can harbour illnesses without showing them, then bang you know they are ill..

So sorry to hear you lost your snake. I don't think it's anything you've done wrong - I've made far more mistakes with my little one and he's survived it all. I hope your supplier will give you a replacement.

thanks every one for your kind words
i took the advice and took the corn back to the shop
were they was happy to replace with a creamside if ive spelt that right has they had sold the the rest of the snowcorn,,
which is really lively and a fast little mover, all i was told was that it was from last years baby when i ask how old the snake was,
i have the snake in a plastic baby snake box with a small water bowlin itand chippings,
the box is half on half off the heat mat inside a 3 ft viv
shold i keep the doors of the viv open so extra air can get in the viv , or should i just have the box in the open on the heat mat
thanks

Maybe move the box a little bit off the heatmat, so it's only on about a thrid of the heatmat.

Have the doors opened at different times.
A box inside a viv. If he escapes, he wont get out of viv then. (hopefully)
