Hey, just got the setup for my mexi black kingsnake, would have posted on the other site but there are more people here...
how do you people with exoterra faunariums attatch the heatmat underneath? im thinking sellotape but thought id see if there was any better, more long-lasting ideas on here...
Sicky tape works, gaffa tape really works or a polystyrean(*sp?) tile underneath to raise it up enough to touch the bottom (if your faunarium has little feet) is also a commen fix. I just plonk the faun on top of the mat and it all kinda holds itself together.
its very slightly raised so i reckon ill try the sticky tap for a while, dont have any polystyrean(cant spell it either!) at the mo but ill try and get a hold of that... ty
Mountboard (foamboard) works really well as well - it's like a thin layer of foam between two laminated cardboard sheets so it's hard-wearing and very good insulation.
You would probably be able to get viv-sized offcuts from printers (I got mine from our company's print room) - but it's quite cheap to buy from arts-supply shops.
