Hiya ppl, just got my 1st baby corn a couple of weeks ago.
To be honest i've always been amazed by snakes, but still had a fear of them, so i was told to start with a corn.
Anyway, my mate has had a few snakes and he's been round showing me a few basics.
BUT.... When he gets him out..... no bother, although i never seen him actually get him out.
Then when i go to get him on my own, he sort of coils back at me....
Is this normal or am i annoying him.
Only ever held him when he's been handed to me you see,
any advice will be great, thank's in advance!

Don`t be hesitant and be confident when you go in. The snake will sense you being scared and that will make it jumpy and possibly aggressive. |

Cheers mate, easier said than done at 1st though mate.
Would he only recognise my mate's scent or whatever or would he be ok with anyone as he has been handled every other day since i got him.
My mates held him alot more than me you see. |

Just them settling in mate, mine was the same and still does a little bit now but they get used to you and you to them, just go in with confidence and even if he/she does bite you you won't feel it from a baby. They are just a little intimidated as young ones i think as my mates is 16years old and she doesn't bother at all |

bless i know its hard we have been working with pythons as well as corns for years, the hatchling corns i can deal with fine but little burmese r a force to be reconed with so i where my gloves and use a snake hook lol. so i was going to suggest maybe getting yourself a little snake hook just to pick him up with, it might help with your confidance. |

However, if you can't get hold of a snake hook, use an old plastic coathanger, after cutting off the bottom and one side, you have an ideal little plastic snake hook. You don't shock with cold metal then either. |
