| Could anyone give me advice on how to feed for the first time. I only got motley yesterday and the pet shop said he was due for a feed that day but to let him settle first. I was wondering if its ok to try him with food tommorrow? I want to feed him out of the cage but with him being so new was wondering if it would be better to feed inside the first time didn't want to handle him so soon n put him off his food?? Plus i know we've got to leave him alone for a couple of days after his feed. |

| He probly be ok but i would give him a few more days just to settle in and then you could get him out to feed,being a few days late with a feed is not going to be a problem but a stressed snake is. |

I wouldn't recommend feeding him for at least a week, give him a nice amount of time to settle in.
Well done on knowing to leave him be for a couple days after feeding, you'd be surprised how many people don't get told that.
I personally would feed out of the fauna/viv, inside a takeaway tub or lunch box or similar should be fine.
One more thing though, PICCYS!!!!

I left it 2 days with all my snakes before trying a feed out of the viv, they all took the first time ....They've got use to there routine now which is great |

| Thanks everyone for the replies. As soon as I can I will get some pics up, but I find it hard to get on at weekends LOL the kids hog it. Motley seems to be settling in nicely,he even managed to lie across the the inside of the top of the viv last night. |

| The pet shop told me he'd just moved on to fuzzie's, so i tried him yesterday with one and it looked like he was struggling, after half an hour of him trying with no success i went back to the pet shop n got some large pinkies which he took straight away no messing about. I'll put some pics up of his feed later. |
