hi, im new here, so please be gentle...... 
i've been told that my corn snake is a male by the pet shop, but i was told that if i measure the length between his vent and tip of tail (where it narrows off) it will tell me if its male or female (not guarenteed) but they didnt say how long for a male/female etc, so i was wondering if anyone could please tell me........
the length between the vent and tail tip is 8.5 inch.

Sorry I'm useless on Sexing - i take my snakes up to Ryan at the rep shop and he tells me (everyone should have a Ryan ) But welcome to the site and we're all pretty gentle on here, well except kehhlyr whos just plain bonkers (wierdo freak doesn't even like Marmite ) |

| Yep Ryan is great, when i've bought Reps from elsewhere, before i even take them home i take it to him to get checked over and stuff. He's not the cheapest in the world for accesories a stuff but i have a stong belief in looking after independents otherwise you lose them. He's the only one in the shop who probes so your best off giving him a buzz before going up there to check he's about 0117 9715691. |

Dont get me wrong, i buy all my mice and most of my live food from him, one of the leos one of the beardies, 3 of the corns and the 2 boas came from him, plus accesories, so i'm a pretty good customer. But he's never charged me for sexing or checking them over. And now i've got too many for him to board he's said he'll do home visits next time i'm on holiday!
I don't like rep zone, the owner is rude the staff are patronising and i just didn't feel welcome in there. It was quite funny when the pet skink Bob decided to take a chunk out of one guys ear one day coz he was showing off and putting it on his head. |

| Ahh good then I wasnt sure if it was common to be charged for it or not. I found that staff at reptile zone patronising aswell, but they seem to keep their animlas well. |
