not really, more an indication of what morph it is

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

Normals have a chess board style belly pattern which oranges out towards the tail.

Bloodreds don't have a belly pattern, but I'm not sure whether this applies to het Bloodreds too.
