i have my first hatchling corn who eats well and is active but yesterday after doing a normal poo he tried and failed to poo out what looked like a pinkies nose/head. could this just be undigested food or could it be his insides eg a hernia? any help would be very much appreciated. thank you. |

What are the temps in the tank? When was he last fed? How many pinkies? How much does he weigh? How many times has he tried to pass it? |

the temperature can be a little cold but never below 70/20. he ate 1 pinkie 2 days earler. not sure on weight, he's about 12 in inches long though. he's only done it once which was yesterday. thank you for this. |

Anyone got any thoughts as to whether he might have strained and just popped his hemipene out slightly? Could be a possibility, but don't quote me on that. |

it's very unlikely part of a pinky would have passed through his digestive tract and still be recognisable at the other end. hemipenes or possibly prolapse sound more likely. however your temps are pretty low so he might be struggling to digest his food properly, can you get the warm end up to around 80-85*F? |

Its possible that a snake that size still hasnt got total muscule control on its hemipenes, I would go with that anyway if the temps are ok. Lee's king recently did the same and thats old enough to have total control so if its a 1 off I wouldnt worry too much. |
