We are starting to wake up Cyd and Nagini from their brumation. I know it's a little early, but with the extremely cold winter we are having we daren't keep them down so low for much longer, so have started raising the temps again.
I can't wait! It seems ages since I last had them out for a play, and it's been dead quiet about the house without Nagini rattling her water bowl against the viv all winter |

I don't think they have lost much weight, in fact last time I weighed Cyd (about half way through) she had put on weight!!! (Don't know how she managed it). Going to weigh them again after a few more days of warming up. Only raised the temp by 2 degrees so they've got a way to come yet.
We are going to breed Cyd, that is why she went to sleep, but Nagini just went down because he doesn't eat in winter anyway so thought it was worse to keep him awake, when he so obviously wants to sleep.
Hoping it'll help us get him on rats GP. They are supposed to be so hungry after brumation they will eat anything. Trying him on a rat for the first feed. |
