Hi all, don't actually have a corn snake yet but looking for some advice.
Never been into reptiles myself but my girlfriend has been looking to get some bearded dragons, which if I'm honest I think are boring! I love the idea of a well decorated vivarium but I would rather the reptile in it moved! This is whats drawn me to corn snakes, everytime we've visited a reptile shop, the snakes always seem the most active out of all the reptiles. The vivarium will be in the front room and I would love to see it between 5pm-11pm, will this actually happen or will it hide under a rock all the time?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Wicksy and welcome. i'm fairly new to Corn snakes but our Rosa is most active at night where she is climbing all over the viv. The other good thing about corns although fasinating to watch is that you can get them out and handle them and have them crawl all over you.

you don't need beardies, the poo smells forever. Corns poo only does until it's removed, so.... get a Corny. Then another. Then Another, then another, then move into a bigger house, then get another, the convert the loft, and so on.
Hi, and welcome to the forum, Get a cornsnake, they're brilliant, and when handled well are fun and safe animals.
on another plus side, mother-in-laws to be never like them. BONUS!

Thanks all for the welcome and info, loving the sound of the mother-inlaw being scared
Got a few more questions but will ask them in the 'General Keeping information' section.
Thanks again |

Welcome Wicksy, I agree with everyone else, buy a corn. Mine usually makes an appearance at about 9pm and then mooches round his viv for a good few hours. And on the point of mother in laws.....I've not seen mine since my corn had an abnormal sized bulge in his stomach, and a grin on his face. How Strange!? |
