Hi guys.

I've decided to go with a corn snake over a royal python and i am looking for reputable suppliers of all things snakey. I have found exotic pets and 888 reptiles and i was wondering if they are anygood.

I also found this setup and i was wondering if you would say its a good buy or not:

Corn Snake Kit - Vivarium
Flat Pack 18"x15"x15" Vivarium (Oak, Limed Oak or Beech)
Light fittings + 40 wattage bulb
Heat Mat 7x12"
Habistat Temp Stat 300w
Two Exo Terra Thermometer Liquid Strip
Exo Terra Thermometer Dail
Exo Terra Medium Snake Cave
Cork Bark
Aspen Bedding - 5 Litre Bag
Exo Terra Medium Water Dish
AVS - Corn Snake Manual Book.

I appreciate the help.

ToM

If your going for a young corn, how about a Faunarium and you can get all the kit you need off ebay ect very cheap, rep shops have a lot of overheads and cant compete with the prices.

that viv is a little large for a hatchling. plus it is not very escape proof and believe me you will need it wen there small. were are you based? i think my local shop does a completet package with mat stat and normal corn for about £77. that would last you at least a year.

FERKING bells thats's cheaper than anywhere up here.

TBH I think the above aint too good, its a touch small. I would rather buy a larger tank as it saves updating the tank a year later. If you want a little tank for a yearling get an exo faunatium. You also don't really need the 40w bulb (and I can't see anything stating guard for it - unless that is in with the "fittings".)

You can get a cornsnake, kit, and a stat for about £120 up here.

To make it escape proof only takes 10 mins and a lock on the door. The advantage of this is that you shouldn't have to update your tank for a while.

ooops, I bought another.........

I wouldn't get that for a young snake. And I'm based at chester near Liverpool. I have two good pet shops near buy, where I first held a cornsnake and knew I wanted one.

That looks like a good deal Swift

I like the book- you don't often get those in starter kits and information on care is probably the most important thing you need with a new pet.
