My corns been staying in her hide...which is good I guess, but she's actually never out of it...though sometimes I've caught her sitting there with just her head out of the hide, but the rest of her inside it. I'm just wondering, is this normal or is there something wrong?
She shed the other night, if thats relevant. It was a perfect shed too. |

hey, i had noticed this with my corn when i 1st got her aswell,so i asked about it and several more have since me lol, from the advice iv been given its perfectly norm, i never c Nia unless i get her out of the hide myself, and majority of people here will say the same, i think you should only wurry if your corn is about the viv all the time because it means they might be stressed (correct me if im wrong :D lol) if u get up at silly times lik 2am i recon your likly 2 see her about then, i caught her a few tinmes when the lights were out so bought a red light, get 2 watch her nw without disturbin :D hope this helps
ow and congrats on the perfect shed, i found it a great milestone wen Nia had her 1st |

It could be due to the cold. Many people's snakes are inactive at the moment due to the winter. How long have you had her? |

Ah, thanks Daman. The red bulb seems to be a good idea, I mean, I was playing with her earlier, and she was fine. Its not her first shed ever though, its her 3rd, just her first with me. I got her when she was 5 months old and I got her for my birthday, which was the 23rd of November, so not that long. Maybe she has just calmed down now. Hm, thing is, the temperature varys alot. The room can get quite cold, since well...Dundee isn't exactly the UK's warmest city during the winter, but the heat mat provides enough heat, its just when the thermostat turns it off, the temperature plunges down relatively quickly before the heatmat turns on and slowly brings it back up. I mean, it seems the hot end of my viv can be anything from 23°C to 30°C, though most of the time its 27-29°C... I don't think its the temperature though.. Hehe, maybe she is just being lazy, lol. |

the temp at the hot end should be fine but the rest of the viv/tub/RUB will be a lot cooler this time of year as the ambient temp has dropped, so she's likely to stay where it's warm. |
