hi guys, needing a bit of help here. cecil has refused his last two feeds (each @ 6 days apart), which I know is not a problem itself, but with the temperature dropping quite severely by us could he be going into brumation? If so when should I look at dropping the temps in his viv?

lost track of the day's now, but I'm getting my amel stripe corn on the 2nd of August!!!

To be honest mate at that age and size i personaly wouldnt brumate. I would keep the temps up 28c-30c warm end and 24c low end. Light is a big thing though as this is what will put a snake into brumation before low heating. So if poss try to keep 12 hours of light.

like paul.c said daylight is a major factor in inducing brumation, i've got a lamp on a timer in the room as my new stack doesn't have lighting yet.

have got his red light in the viv, but that for my viewing pleasure, will have to get a small lamp and put it near them like you say to simulate brighter and longer daylight.

Reptile version of hibination.
Mamals before they hibinate feed them selves up, to enable them to produce heat.
Reptiles before they brumate have to fast for a few week so that the food dont rot in side them.
