my snakes tail is fat and then the last inch and a half it goes realy skinny. why is this. also can you use just normal paper for substrate as i have ran out of kitchen roll thanks

also i fed him on sunday the hump has completely gone when should i fed him again. i was ggoing to do sunday thursday but thinking of a sunday wednesday. thanks

Also, are you sure its male? The sex of a snake can sometimes be told by the shape of the tail (apparently).

How old/large is he? I feed mine every five days and he's about 40cm and 4 months old (ish) two days after he's eaten he usually looks pretty chunky around the vent but then he poops and is all beauteous and shapely again

I don't know about using normal paper for substrate.. I think I'd worry about paper cuts if he tried to burrow under it. Perhaps loo paper as a temporary measure?

Ha - just seen Bob in the pictures thread. I'm guessing he's just about to poop - I wouldn't feed him again until Friday personally. He's very cute!

feed every 5 days for a hatchling/youngster, by the time he's a yearling he should hopefully be feeding weekly but it can also depend on the size of the prey item. paper is fine for substrate - i use it for most of mine

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos
