I've had Zissou for just over 4 weeks now. He shed about 2 or 3 days before I collected. How often do you think they should shed? He's still only a little'un. I've heard horror stories about snakes being incased in their old skin because they haven't shed properly. I just want to get the first one done so I can relax a little. |

approx every 6 weeks, but this is only approx, and depends on feeding and growth rates. |

i think 4-6 weeks is normal for a hatchling. like sunny said it depends on growth rates - the more you feed.... the more they grow.... the more they need to shed. i really wouldn't worry too much about it Rorshach, most corns shed fine, even if they don't a 5-10 min soak in luke warm water then running through a towel usually will sort them out |

Typical, got home last night after posting this and go to see Zissou and he's eyes have gone blue
He's on his way. Once he's shed I'll try and get some new photos of him. |

Zissou is just sat hiding at the minute. Checked on him last night and this morning and he's barley moved. Had to check he was still alive. |

coco managed her first shed on sunday night no probs, with her being in a mesh topped viv. I moved her water over to the warm side to raise the humidity a bit, got up on monday morning and here it was all nice and neat. |
lost track of the day's now, but I'm getting my amel stripe corn on the 2nd of August!!! |

did that too, used a thick tea towel so the viv. still had a bit of ventilation too. |

A little tip my reptile vet recommended, if you use a spray bottle with warm water and spray a light amount around the tank. It can slightly raise the humidity to help them shed. I did this for Ziggy that had really bad shedding problems when i first got her. |

Well, Sirius' eyes had cleared this morning ( I moved the water bowl over last night) so with any luck he should shed soon! I was thinking of giving him a wee swim tonight if he hasn't to help things along.. the anticipation is killing me |

Zissou shed on saturday. Perfect shed, the whole lot in one go. I'm very happy. Fed him sunday and he snapped up the pinkies straight away:-) |
