One of my snakes dies on Saturday
She hadnt been eating, and even though we tried everything, she just wouldnt take it. We got our reptile man round, and he managed to force feed her half a pinky on Thursday (9th) i checked her on friday and she had regurgitated. I couldnt see no reason for this, as we hadnt handled her, she was just left alone in the dark & warm to digest. I thought i would leave her a few days, and then see if she would take a pinky, our snake man agreed this was the best thing to do. I checked her on Sat, just through the plastic, and she was laying at a really funny angle near a branch. I just knew immediatly that she was dead.....
It is pretty upsetting. We hadnt had her long (bought on the 25/08/08), and she was 3 months old. The viv was 29c in the hot end and 22c in the cold end. She had no black bits on the underside of her body suggesting blockages, or parasites.
Our other snake Dante (Pandoras sister) is in perfect health and growing at a steady rate, havinig already moved on to 2 pinkys every 5 days (greedy piggy).
Just thought i would let you all know. You may be able to tell me where i went wrong, or you may be able to show me i'm not a snake murderer. |

Sorry to hear that. I am sure it is nothing you could have prevented and you sound like you did the best you could. With such tiny snakes its often never possible to see what the problem is. |

I have read that you do sometimes get specimens that just refuse food and eventually just die, so I do believe it's mother nature. You did all you could getting a pro round to see. RIP Pandora. |
