human baby (veroninca) is doing great she is very demanding and not given me much time so breeding season has been a nightmare trying to keep on top of it all.
we hatch more than 100 corns this year plus burmese and carpets. to tell you the truth i lost count on the corns as with everything going on time has been short, not even all they charts are up to date (doh)and ive stoped writing on feds altogether now it quicker to note if one hasn't but so far nearly everthing we have sold has gone strate to suppliers.
hi ell look fwd to talking to you

welcome back roselyn glad to hear everything is going ok...

ros, wot is the difference between stripes and motly stripes.

i have just got a female ghost stripe but now some one said she was a motley.
if you could help i would be really grateful.
this is her. her belly has no markings if that helps. thanks..

hi this is where i rabbit on and hope it makes sence lol

basically the motley and stripe gene share the same allele.
of recent some people have stated that motley is dominate over the stripe gene.

anyhow the name motley/stripe has been used to decribe both genetic motley striped and motley with striping animals.

corns that are a 100% motley and corns that are 50% motley and 50% stripe can look stiped but the stripes tend to be thinner and rough/jagged looking or broke.

striped corns tend to have a wider stripe full stripe (unless it been selectively bred someting ie cubed/vanishing.)the stripes tend to look cleaner

visually your snake looks motley/stripe, but confusion has started to occur because alot of these motley/stripe animals are from seletive bred motleys and have no stripe gene in them.
so people have started to call them motleys when they do not know there genetic background. which is why your snake was refurred to as a motley.

if you look at the pics in my post the genetic mot/strip animals look very motley (which backs up motley being dominate over stripes)but mum was a motley dad was a stripe so they are a 100% genetic mot/stripes. whereas the ghost i have just put mot/stripe this is because mum and dad were both genetic motley/stripe given me a big pain in the bum. as really 25% should be striped (rembering what i said about striped animals being selectivly bred for broken patterns ie cubed)25% motleys (that because of selective breeding can look striped) and 50% genetic motley/stripes.
not confusing at all is it lol

oh both motley and stripe animals have clear bellies
again because of the rough edging on your snake and the pattern being broken i would say its not a genetic stiped ghost.
weather it is a motley or a genetic mot/stripe is something you will have to prove via future breeding.

sorry ive waffled on abit let me know if i missed something
cheers

cleared it up nicely for me too, i thought they were visually either stripe or motley, and didn't really know about motley-stripes I understand the genetics behind it - that gene sharing the same allele.
