Are they air tight? As I have Jeff in one.

I'm not sure if they are or not.
There are no obvious vents

You need ventilation and air flow really.

You can purchase lids for fish tanks in order to convert them into vivs. They come with a ventilation mesh and a socket for a bulb. Saw them in the pet shop today.

depends on what you're doing for a lid JS
the mesh ones you can buy are expensive but have good ventilation (as they're mesh!) if it's a home-made lid then we'd need to see a piccy

I think its unlikely, but not all fish tanks are the same.

Hmmm. This shows no signs of vents though :( Except to large holes which I had to seal with duck tape.

Not sure exactly and the price will vary with size. They were in Viper & Vine in Manchester but I expect most reptile pets shops will stock them.

Fish need a supply of surface oxygen to diffuse into the water so I highly doubt its airtight.

although just because it isn't air tight doesn't mean that it will necessarily have enough ventilation to maintain correct humidity. Maybe worth considering.

Although he has covered up the large holes which would have provided the surface Oxygen?

if it's a standard fish tank lid it will have ventilation BUT they just sit on top of the tank - it won't be snake-proof - they just push them off!
