Thanks for the input, I've booked an appointment with a rep vet so hopefully it'll be sorted soon. Seems to me like it could be scale rot. I'll get a pic of the lamp w/ guard up soon. No real way she could've burnt on it though, the mesh around it doesn't get hot at all.

Thanks, I really hope it's something easily managed. All the stuff I've read about scale rot seems to fit except the main causes are often listed as a "damp and dirty environment" and that doesn't fit at all. I'll keep you posted.

The vet reckons it's a fungal infection, most likely picked up from the substrate. He gave me Pevedine antiseptic and some Flamazine cream. Hopefully should sort it out nicely. We'll see after her next shed in a couple of weeks!
