| my lad is called max hes about 27" long, well i call him lad but i dont realy know is there a way of sexing with out probing |

There is but it's not as accurate. I guessed the sex of one of my corns by comparing the tails of hers with another snake that I knew was definitely male. Female tails tend to be more stumpy than females.
Best just to take him/her to a breeder.
Since your from Tarn  - why not pop through to the snake shop in Attercliffe. He doesn't mind sexing your snakes for you, if you phone up beforehand to ask nicely.
p.s where do you get your snake things from normally? |

| hi kaz i get my fuzzys from barnsley near market or a place in mexborough with working over there, bought max from the lizard lounge in sheff but wouldnt go back there cause when i got him i also got another but he wouldnt eat, tried everything and then had to take him back the guy swapped him but same again wouldnt eat i think they were to young, guess i was lucky with max cause he eats like a pig strikes and contracts like a pro lol |

| There is a process called `popping` but you have to know what your doing as you could easily hurt the snake and its best to practice on a snake that you already know the sex of. So if i were you i`d take it to a herp specialist, in fact that exactly what i`m doing in the next few weeks to see if Jake needs a name change. Problem with that is that he wont come when called!LOL |

| well i think i might just leave him as max rather than have him messed about with and i'll probably never breed him so dont suppose it matters and if he is a she then max is good for both lol |

| hi viper, i too have a max, although i am beggining to wonder as my thread suggests, think it maybe maxine? lol due to mitch riding her round tank few weeks back, shed today and bump belly etc etc lol |
