Any chance of a picture, it may help, have you had it for 8 weeks or did the lump appear after you got it? i'd say a trip to the vets just to set your mind at ease.

Constipation? - Have you seen much poo recently?

If not then try a luke warm bath and a massage.

a bath usually works, 1-2" of luke warm water in the bath if it's and adult, or 1-2cms in a washing up bowl or in the sink if it's a hatchling. BLOCK OFF THE OVERFLOW!! or you migt lose him/her down it. let it swim for 10 mins or so then pop it into a towel (a nice warm one would probably be appreciated ) and it work it's way through the towel to dry off.

welcome to the forum btw, and like SC says pics are always helpful

Is the lump between the vent and the tip od the tail? My snake had a bulge level with her vent on the side of her body years ago before i got her. It was drained by the vet. There is a small lump there still. If you want i can get some pic's up so you can compare it?

That's how i read it as well matty, as in between the vent and the tail tip, otherwise i would suggest a luke warm bath.
