After reading a few things about RI, my corn snake "Jeff" doesn't seem to sleep in the warm end, or vacate their at all. He's always in the cold end under the aspen.
I might be a little bit of a drama queen, I haven't heard any weird noises or what not. I took him into the shop I work/bought him from, (before I thought of posting this) They said he's a very healthy snake. I'm just unsure. :(

My corn is normaly at the cool end. Just make sure the temps are correct and there is nothing to worry about. |

Skittles used to do that but i moved the hide he was under to the warm side and the one at the warm side over to the cold side and now he is always at the warm side. It could maby be too warm at the warm side?? I had that problem to start with. |

You'd know if he had an R.I- they weeze and in bad cases blow bubbles and foam from the mouth.
He's probably just in the cold side because he's warm enough there.
Is there a decent hide in the warm end too? They need two hides, because the impulse to hide is sometimes stronger than the urge to keep thermo-regulated. |

All glass? Might just feel vulnerable if exposed. The snake will not know that it is safe and that you are there to feed it and play with it, but its only natural instict will be to protect itself.
It will be in its own mind to hide, even if it does not know why, but in the wild they would bury themselves in the grass/hollows/ground to hide from everything else on the ground and even birds.
Try re-arranging the viv and turning the cold side into the warmer side to see if it is temp related or self protection related. If its a temp thing, it will move to the other side where its cooler, and if its a favourite spot thing, it will stay there because that is where it feels safe.
Experiment, as not all vivs and snakes follow the rules in a book.... and as Kazerella said, you will know if it is RI.
You should be thinking more about what you are going to put in the Faunarium when you get the viv |

Oh, I'm unsure of getting a 2nd snake as of yet. But silly me, being "slow"
I might house 2 together in a viv. Unsure. :P |

might be an idea to try and address the problem of why he's not using the other side of the viv though, otherwise he won't thermoregulate properly. is the side he doesn't use much in direct sunlight at any part of the day? or if you have a light in the viv does that shine into the (now) cool hide? is that hide as appealing as the other one ie. is it as private/secure-feeling for him? |

It's not a viv, it's a Faunarium. Uhm, unsure what it might be. It as Mark said might just be a personal spot for him which enjoys. I have the heat mat on that side, with the water bowl... Is that a problem? He uses the water bowl now though. |

personally i'd just try to make the cool hide as appealing as the hot one, with Beech i moved things around as he was always in the cool end, blocked off the direct sunlight that was coming in and put a rock and some plastic plants round the cool hide to encourage him to use it when he needed to cool down a bit. |

He was using the cool end anyway, since I put the heat mat on that side. He's always out and active now. :) |
