Jennet, Are his temps back up and stable?
Just thinking, if he is following the daylight times, and the nights are drawing in, he might be thinking to himself that it is time to prepare himself for brumation.
One of mine, i have in a 150ltr tub at the mo, seems to be thinking like that.
It may also be that he feels a shed coming on.

Try extending his light period, and i think i would leave him until the weekend, like you said, as he has been poked, prodded and passed around a fair bit the last couple of weeks. (not a bad thing, more about his needs)

Ive just managed to get a non-feeder eating for someone else this way, and fingers crossed, it will stay that way.
