I'm probably being over protective but..
Is there any reason not to use no more nails for fittings and are there any chemicals in paint etc that would be dangerous to a snake even when dried?
I'm getting mixed views from google-ing about the paint, might just sand it down if needed. |

Paint and varnishes can give off fumes if heated. Water based paints should be ok and you can also get odourless gloss, but its slightly more expensive than the norm. `No More Nails` can dissolve in water, like `Gripfill`, Used in the trade, but over time. |

Just a thought...... if the paint will be used where heat is, like under mats, around lamps etc, use radiator paint, and Hammerite also do a paint for painting fire coals that stands 600 degress C without smelling in heat, but thats a spray. I use them on gas fires. |

Thanks, think I'll just sand the wood/MDF down and may just find a way to screw down the shelves instead of no more nails.. |

i have used pegs/dowls and wood glue to build mine(so you cant see screws) and no more nails in certain spots and builders caulk to seal it.
was advised that it would be fine as long as i left it to fully dry so it wasnt giving any fumes off.
seems to be ok... |
