Well I have finally done it I had my heart set on a corn snake but when i got to Scales and tails (my local reptile dealer) I fell in love with a yearling Rat snake. I will try and get some pics up soon. What are the main differences with rat snakes and corn snakes? I was told the temprement is very calm of the rat snake as with the corn snake. |

Good luck with him. I have heard that rats are a bit more fiesty than corns but every snake has its own temprement, so time will tell! |

Isn't the corn snake called the red rat snake in some parts of the world? Bet there's not that much difference really |

what ever you do with a rat snake, don't lean past the knowledgeable-looking person who is standing back, and try to grab it's head to put it back in the tub, lol
what do you mean??? Of course I look knowledgeable!! |

seriously though the Great Plains aren't hugely different to corns, I'd like a emoryi female. |

cheers for your feedback, got 1 quick question slinky always seem to sit in the cold area of the viv and he feels really cold to touch. I have got hides at both ends, is this cause he is in new home and getting used to his surroundings? Thank you in advance. |

check the temp in the warm end, it may be too hot for him, also is the hot hide as appealing as the cold one eg. size, how enclosed and private it is? |
