Hi All,
My 3 year old corn laid her first eggs 4 days ago. They were found, with her under, her waterbowl, which was a surprise.
The eggs look very white but have a slight irregular shape. Is this due to the weight of the bowl they were found beneith or saggy and unfertile?

Can't you leave them? The mould rarely transfers to healthly eggs and if things do get mouldy just clean it with a cotton bud :/ |

Dental floss is the safest thing to use but you must be very careful personally i wouldnt rush to remove them as far as im aware it shouldnt do the healthy eggs any harm unless they go mouldy, its just some prefer to remove them others just leave them.good luck |

4 eggs have turned yellow :( 3 are stuck to the main cluster. Should I remove these or not. I've read somewhere that dental floss is the best thing to use. |

i dont know whats the deal with the hovabator, i remember someone using it unsealed, but i think its probably better for it to be sealed.
Does the hovabator control the humidity? if it does surely theres a way of getting it back up!? |

thanks for tips all. I will try and sort them out tonight.At present i have the hovabtor and an unsealed open top tray which they ar esitting in. Is this where i am going wrong.
Should i have the hovabator and a sealed tub?? |

Thermal shock! Are you measuring the humidity inside the incubator or inside your egg tub?
If the humidity is not holding inside the egg tub then there are too many air holes, at a maximum you want 2, really small 1 at either end, but not on the lid. Personally i use sealed tubs which i open maybe once a week to allow and air swap. If the egg tub is sealed then the humidity cannot drop, there is nowhere for the moisture to go, so you see it dripping off the lid.
If you have a mister specifically for the eggs, put it in the incubator also, that way its up to the same temp as the eggs, and they wont 'notice' being sprayed. They will plump up quite quickly once the humidity is high enough. |

try misting, thats the only other thing I can think of. Make sure you do it with warm water that matches their temperature, or they'll get thermo-shock (if that's the proper word, and not a made-up-by-me version!) |

i can't keep the humidity up, any tips? i already have the temperature at a consistent 28'c and a bowl of whater inside the incubator. |

I've manmaged to get the humidity up to above 90%. When I get home tonight I will check there shape and keep you posted. |
