Posted - 25/07/2013 : 08:47:11 It's day 61 for my 11 eggs which have been cooking at a cool 27 degrees. I hadn't expected them this early but this morning I went to check on them and there is one little snake which has pipped
He/she is coming out upside down apparently. Looks like a normal so far. This is the smallest egg of the lot so probably the smallest hatchling.
Pictures you say? Okay

Little nose http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee126/wildmoppet/DSC00367.jpg Like I said, looks like it will be a very bright normal (just like mum)
Upside down, funny little thing. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee126/wildmoppet/DSC00368.jpg
Better get that hatchling rack sorted FAST...Nearly ready just need to thread heat cable through it and put aluminium tape over that, then turn it on and allow to reach stable temperatures. Hopefully this little one will stay in the egg a day or so. If not, he/she will have to stay in the incubator until his/her clutch mates appear and I have the rack ready
So excited, I really didn't expect them to be this early with the cooler temps I was cooking them at.
Sooooo AcidicAngel. Anything from your lot yet? I was waiting to hear about pippies from you, thinking mine would be a few days later. |

Posted - 01/08/2013 : 21:58:03 Yeah, they're really tiny Just given the first three the smallest pinkies I have ever seen, the two that have eaten them have huuuuuuge bulges haha. |

Posted - 01/08/2013 : 21:56:34 I can never get over how tiny the babies are in comparison to the adults! Teeny tiny little noodles! |

Posted - 01/08/2013 : 21:53:18 Haha. So far I have three amels, 3 masque and two normals I think, if I remember correctly They are all het anery and ph diffused, charcoal and amel (not the amel ones obviously).
I shall be putting up photos when they have all shed, for equality's sake #1, 2, 3 and 4 have now shed. #1 and #2 have just eaten their first meals without any fuss, almost as soon as I put the pinkies into the tub. Very pleased. |

Posted - 01/08/2013 : 21:07:00 You read my mind - I nearly posted on this thread, wanted to ask how many have you got now, and what morphs... :-) And pics of all of them, of course, that's compulsory :-) |

Posted - 01/08/2013 : 20:57:50 UPDATE: 8 hatchlings out of the eggs 1st 3 have shed and are going to be offered pinkies tonight
Two eggs left to pip. A week after the first pip and no signs of pipping but veins look good still. They are both at the front of the tub so I wonder if it was a bit cooler there or something. |

Posted - 26/07/2013 : 23:02:54 Thanks everyone
mjpeters - Thanks very much, I'm so glad Lilith passed the slugs with no problems
Isoldael - Thanks, I think that the amel might have been my surprise. I had no idea of any hets for the male so I'm pleased with the little amel Even if the rest are normals his het amel has been proven out for me. Of course a little diffused or a charcoal, or anery or anything else would be such a bonus but I won't hold my breath!
UPDATE#3 is out and is a male normal. Two more have pipped and look like they are both normals. 5 eggs still left to pip I think. |

Posted - 26/07/2013 : 15:20:48 #2 is out of the egg. A male amel
He's a bit more lively than #1, the normal which I think is probably female.

Posted - 25/07/2013 : 21:56:38 Thanks everyone
Scaly - yeah, I think he/she is getting ready for it, milky colour to the ventral scales already I think it's gonna be a real stunner when it grows up, really bright
Razee - yeah it is awesome To know I'm the first person they will see and the first person to touch them and handle them is amazing.
UPDATE: A third egg has a little V-shaped slit in it too! Still no movement from the 'possibly an amel' and no nose poking out to give me a clue as to morph yet. I wonder if I'll wake up to a box full of snakes, that'd be nice |

Posted - 25/07/2013 : 21:30:31 Little cutie - I just thought that it must be an amazing feeling - being the very first person to handle a baby snake :-) |
