Posted - 12/06/2011 : 17:04:08 I'm glad she is ok even if you mostly got slugs. |

Posted - 12/06/2011 : 15:23:47 Well- final outcome is 11 slugs, 3 good eggs and 1 live and well mummy- so I'm doing better than last year!! Still, I've wasted all these months trying to breed 2 females, and ended up with nothing but a skinny snake and mostly duds.
Valuable lesson learnt here, especially for those that like to co-habit- Do NOT trust the outcome of probing unless the snake is a PROVEN breeder!
Thank god she is an 08 and the right size for breeding eh?! |

Posted - 12/06/2011 : 13:21:23 A pint of Guiness and a curry may help things along! In all seriousness though, good luck I hope she completes her clutch soon. |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 22:52:39 You need hot towels and whale music, that's what is required in birthings on the TV. I'm sure this time tomorrow you'll have a incubator full of eggs. |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 22:11:15 Nope, 2 eggs in 2 days.... however, having spoken to 2 breeders and vet, and judging by the movement and positioning of the eggs/activity levels of the snake, they have told me not to worry too much..... they reckon she is getting ready for a big push lol- easier said than done though!! Fingers crossed things will start moving a bit faster soon, she seems very restless and VERY lumpy now. |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 22:05:30 Anymore yet? How are your nerves holding up. (I've everything crossed this one will be a textbook egg laying session). |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 09:25:56 Well, Aurelia as she is now known had laid 1 fertile egg by 2 o'clock yesterday, but as of yet there are no more. She seems very bright and calm, and was out for a wonder around her viv last night, so she'll maybe just be one of these slow layers.
Still, finding it hard to remain upbeat after the death of my last gravid female..... Good thing I'm at work all day today! |

Posted - 10/06/2011 : 16:13:27 Nope, it's laying as I type. Didn't come from a shop either, came from a reputable breeder.
Maybe a bit of a misinterpretation on my part- was sold as an "08 male golddust, definitely het stripe"
I assumed the definitely part meant it had been bred and proven, as that is really the only way a het can be definite....
Still, if I buy a male from a good breeder, I expect it to be male LOL!!
Fingers crossed all goes well, its me and the OH's anniversary today and now I'm all worried |
