Do I have to cool down once a year or is that only if you are using the snakes to breed

last winter was the first time i deliberately cooled my older corns for breeding the following spring........... and they didn't breed!! slightly gutted!

from a breeder's perspective as well as it being a more natural cycle for the snakes it also helps keep costs down

Thanks guys.............then it got me thinkng about how chickens lay eggs even if there was a male with them so I did a bit of googling into snakes laying even if there isnt a male around.............found it can happen but not always

yeah cooling them is generally done to get them ready for breeding but its not essential.. I keep all mine at the same temps all year round

Yeah breeders will usually do this, but it is not even essential for breeding!

Generally speaking, cooling down is only done if you are intending to breed. Mine are kept at the same temp all year.
