Is there a general rule about what weight of food to give for what weight of snake.
Rizla is a greedy git and would eat anything you give him. I've only known him to refuse once and that was very close to him shedding.
I'm trying to put him on a diet because he's a little fat at the moment, but I don't want him to go hungry.

Even as a rule of thumb, is there a rough guide?

Here is a rough guide.

When they're on single pinks (2-3g), every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)

I doubt if the snake will go hungry, i think its their instinct to be greedy and take food when they get it; as in the wild they don't how long it will take to find a nice plump rat

He'll let you know if he gets hungry when he tries to get your finger!

Maybe feed a bigger food but fortnightly? How big is Rizla? grith and length?

How old/big is he?

General rule of thumb is prey around the same girth as the snake. Frequency of feeds would depend on age and size of the snake.
