What are your guys methods of spot cleaning..?

I have found some suprises in the tank and need to remove them..

I used to scoop them up with kitchen roll yet this proved a bit messy. (aspen went everywhere!!)

I was thinking of using a dustpan but the tanks a bit small and don't want to take out too much substrate!!

Idea's anyone? I've seen that hermit crab one floating around in a few shops but tbh, £6? No thanks!

I use an old spoon, great scoop and can get into corners plus scratch off stubborn bits. Its also easy to steralise, just like feeding tongs ^^

I use an old Coffee jar top.
A credit card type of card with a plastic coating, I just scoop it into the lid and then put it in the bin bag.

Gonna wait till Blaze is roaming, its feeding day on wednesday so should be hunting soon then have a re-organize and cleaning session;

full cleaned out last weekend - then s/he went and ruined it, having a clean tank must get their bowels going.

They have funny ways of showing you they love you.. ah well :)

Thanks for those tips guys!

i use a zip freezer bag,turn it inside out put my hand in the bag,pick up the poo and substrate and then turn the bag back the other way and then the contents are in the bag ready to be sealed

I grab whatever mess and damp substrate there is with kitchen roll, then put that into a food bag and tie the top. I just get the cheepest kitchen roll and food bags I can find.
