Hello, just a quick question. I have a glass vivarium with a plastic bottom which is quite thick and I was wondering what should I do with the heat mat.

If you want to know if enough heat's getting through, simply put a thermometer or your thermostat on the inside and see how hot it gets.

Yeah, tape to the bottom of the viv on the outside - is there a gap though? If it's a fish tank you will need to raise it slightly so there is a gap underneath the mat to pop a piece of polystyrene. You don't want the tank sitting on top of the mat and squashing it to the surface underneath, that would be dangerous.

Generally, with plastic and glass vivs you can put the heat mat underneath it. They need to go inside wooden vivs though.

It is a fish tank but I thought I could use it for a vivarium
