Posted - 24/11/2012 : 14:11:46 I have a vx24 (see picin link) I have only currently purchased what you see seeing as floor space is very limited with the housing and water bowl I thought i would get some ideas from you lovely people. I need advice on which plant would be best and if a Vine/Rope is a good idea and method of fixing it to the viv. what Logs/deco could i buy for a hatchy to enjoy a good climbing session. Thanks to anyone who takes time to read or reply x

Posted - 25/11/2012 : 21:49:11 Welshlamb, No that is just like thick string. The twist ties I am talking about are 3' long, half inch diameter with plastic end caps. Have a look in the tool section. I can't see them in the catalog but my local store had them last week.
The bedside cabinet on the bottom left has a bundle of them.

Posted - 25/11/2012 : 17:16:21Mr.Strange Just get a screw turn it through the knot in either end of the rope. Then twist the screw into the hole at the top of the viv, where you tighten to secure the top of the vivarium.
Mind just seen the Eye Splice and will be using that on my next vivarium

Never had any problems, just make sure that it fits and there's no sharp edges.

Posted - 25/11/2012 : 15:55:50 I googled rope braiding and it came up with lots of different techniques and I am sure there will be one for making eyelets at the end
Wondering if any of you have some useful tips as how to knot the rope or create the hoops either end.. my current idea is to make a metal bracket just wondered if any1 knows better/easier way :)
Lamb your viv looks fantastic i thought i was nearing completion then you come along lol.. I am not going to go over the top on this viv as i will wait until i move my hatchling into a larger viv for life.

that rope looks fantastic. how did you fix that to your viv?

Posted - 24/11/2012 : 14:16:51 Fake ivy from dunelm mill is always good for greenery, if you want to hang something like rope or vines then I screwed a couple of these into the roof of my viv
on the bottom left has a bundle of them.
