Which would have better nutritional value two regular/medium mice weighing 20g each (total of 40g) or an ex breeder mouse 45g plus or a small weaner rat weighing 34g? The reason for your answer as well if you please Can't work it out using nutrition charts so please don't point me in that direction.

Guess you have a point there. A snake would normally eat what ever it came across I guess no matter whether it was baby, adult, mouse or rat.

Yeah, but its probably of know real interest to most as to whether they are feeding the best nutritional meal or not, as long as the snake seems healthy and is eating.

I'm sure you are right. I'm just one of those people that just can't stop querying things once I've thought of something. I think I drive alot of people round the twist with my what ifs and hows

lol.. mia culpa.. I misread your first post.. I thought you meant to combine the spent breeder and the weaner into a single feed..

IMO the 2x healthy adult mice would be the most 'nutritious' but only just... depends a lot on the diet of the breeder mouse and how often she was bred..

The breeder will be 'depleted' unless she was fed really well, the weaner will also be 'less' because it hasn't matured.

However, if a normal feed is 40g trying to feed 80g will make trouble..

The other thing with diet is that long term trends matter more then single instances.. A diet of spent breeders is something very different then feeding one that happens to be available at the time..

Don't know where you got the 79g from. I'm wondering which is more nutritious between two 20 g mice being fed (2 x 20g totaling 40g), or a 45g plus ex breeder mouse or a 34g weaner rat.
And asking as a long term diet.

If I went by this I would be feeding large weaners. I'm just curious as to which would be of more value to the snake.

I'd say the single breeder, then weaner then 2 medium.

Single large breeder has a higher mass to surface (skin & fur) ratio. Therefore less indigestible content.

I think the difference between weaner and 2 medium would be negligible by balancing nutritional value against double items. Again, indigestible content.

My logic on the topic anyway.
