Take the pinky out and leave him for another week to settle before trying to feed again. Just do water change and poo checks.

sometime draping a towle over can make the air temp get too high, just keep and eye, if he seems over active or going for regular swims i'd swap to paper x
Swigpig Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:55:54
I have a hand towel draped over half of it :-)
Georgina Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:53:51
temps are good. sometimes when they are in rubs they can feel a bit exposed, maybe if you could stick som paper around 2 or 3 of the edges to give him some v=cover xx
Swigpig Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:49:10

It is advised to not handle the snake before feeding other than picking them up to move them into a separate tub for feeding if thats what you do.

Its nothing to worry about at all, you've only had it a week it may just be still settling in.

If the pinkie isn't eaten overnight (is very unlikely to be still there in the morning) though I'd avoid putting in a hide just in case it scares him out of there, just to the side of the entrance would be fine, the smell will soon prove too irresistible to turn down.
Georgina Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:32:44
how big is he?
Swigpig Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:31:52
Do u think he will chill out and feed through the night
Red123 Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:29:24
Handling him then trying to feed him could be the problem. If he is not use to being handled he may be a little stressed by the experience.
Swigpig Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:26:21
Ok ill do that but wot if no joy :-(
ScalySituation Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:23:15
till the morning :)
Swigpig Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:18:34
Yeah the pinkie was warm now its on the heat mat how long shall i leave it there?
ScalySituation Posted - 21/06/2012 : 20:14:39
two weeks wont do him any harm at all, just keep an eye on his weight until he does feed

was the pinky warm? that often helps, there are many many things to try
