Dont bother, its NOT snake mites, that i can guarantee you. Bathing the snake is just gonna be stressful, and with olive oil, thats gonna be real messy, and a waste of oil. |

Does anyone else think soaking and scrubbing the snake with boiling water a little cruel |

Posted - 13/08/2011 : 18:46:17 ok, hi everybody! I`ve been led to beleive they DEFINATLEY WEREN`T MITES.He hasnt been bathing in his water bowl, because when he does this (sheeding) he makes a right mess of it and gets aspen bedding EVERYWHERE. Nor did he have anything on his body. So, i have froze his caves, waterbowl and accesories in the freezer for 24 hrs. Cleaned his viv using weak detol water, placed in new bedding and clean accesories (OCD moment over ). I then gave toby a thorogh check over and found nothing.
So i reckon, once again it was me been over protective of my baby . Thankyou so much for all your help, much appreciated meg xx |

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 13:10:26 Mites are a lot of things, however, I would never describe a mite as being fast!! they can travel about 60ft in 24 hours!!
Pictures are the way forwards, its all just a guess otherwise |

Posted - 11/08/2011 : 15:14:06 Have you noticed Tobasco soaking in his water bowl or any black specs in it. If you can get pics of them it might help some of the experts advise you. I have no experience of mites, thankfully, so I'm afraid I can't be much use |

Posted - 11/08/2011 : 10:00:57 Perhaps mummy spider thought she would give her babies a warm start in life? I guess that without photo's or further description that it is going to be difficult to accurately establish what they were... |

Posted - 11/08/2011 : 09:50:29 Could it simply be that it was a small spider...thinking he'd found himself a lovely warm home? |
