My daughter tapped her fingers on the faun and cilla came up to the glass to have a look then striked does that mean she dont like it or maybe she is hungry and thinks its food ?

no doesnt think its food, was being defensive. Tapping the faun will stress out the snake so suggest you try to get your kids nit to.

Just responding to vibrations and hunting the source down. Instinctive behaviour and yeah probably a food response.
