Was just wondering how many of you feed your corns in the vivarium and how many of you take them out to feed?

She certainly enjoyed it, she wolfed down 2 small fuzzies and went for a very long sleep!

Me and Jordan feed our snakes in a shoe box and both our snakes are strikers to and quite happy to have no lid on but I always keep an eye out for Jordan's snake and he'll do the same for me.

Hi. I'm not sure what a celebrations box is, but any secure cleanable box of suitable size, with airholes, is ideal. If you're planning on starting with a hatchling though, a good size of box is a cricket or mealworm box (about the size of a large marge carton). A shop selling live food should be able to provide such a box - mine gave me a few. Or in fact a marge carton with a clear lid (so that you can check the snake) and airholes, or one of those clear plastic cartons they sell small cakes/buns in, would do too.

We take Tango out of his viv and put him in a plastic container, then we feed him. It just seems easier to do it that way.

Well it's feeding time tomorrow so we shall see what Izzy is like! Hopefully she'll go back in without too much hassle! At least she's far too small for it to matter if she wants to have a bash at my fingers!

(Boasting like mad)

So is my royal!

(Whoever said royals were fussy feeders? Admit he was a slow starter but now ...WOW!)

But, as I said, boasting ...

I nearly always feed in their vivs/tubs. The exceptions are the cohabitters, usually I feed one in the tub, one in a spare tub, and the other eats whilst I hold her.
As for the feeding frenzy going away, my anery motley is in a feeding mood right up to the following feed!
I take the lid off her tub and she comes up with it! She is a very very good feeder!
As above with boas, anyone who sticks their hands in a viv with an adult boa at feeding time is gonna end up hurting, lots.

Pfft, i have to leave my Amel for a good 20-30 in order for him not to have a quick chew on a finger , for such a small snake he has a pretty imense feeding response.

He even strikes and constricts his 2nd pinky.

Thanks for the info guys I remember now that it was my brother that told me about it injuring the snake; he said this when we were little and he prob heard it from a mate so probably not the best of sources!

I was actually considering your suggestion gingerpony. 5 mins after shes fed she's so much more docile, especially if away from her nice hot viv! I think I'll try that on Monday when she's due her next meal. At worst, her faun is inside a larger viv so I can always leave her to explore and then go back to her cave in her own time.

I feed 3 in seperate rubs. I usually weigh them in the feeding rubs first then dangle mousy in. Sometimes they go for it straight away, sometimes I get bored on dangling it and just drop it in to wait til they decide to munch. When they have finished i wait until the mouse is about a third of the way down and then just scoop them up and put them straight back in their vivs/fauns, making sure one hand is supporting the bump. Izzy is a bit more fussy. He was fed in the viv before I had him and still wont eat out of it. I put his mouse on some kitchen roll near his hide so he can help himself. But he is still a bit hit n miss whether he eats it or not.
