Where is the best place on the heat mat to place the sensor probe and thermometer? I have mine on the edge of the microclimate mat (on the black where there is heat). Is that ok to get an accurate reading as i put the thermometer to the middle and it was slightly higher. I hear u can't put it in the middle as the snake will go in the middle and it can affect the reading. I am using my hide to weigh down the probes so i thought where i positioned it was fine to weigh it down.

Try positioning the hide so the edge of the hide is roughly in the middle of the heatmat and pin the probes down with it.
