Posted - 16/05/2010 : 18:19:53 My daughter's 2 yr old male conrn snake has not eaten for 5 weeks which we believed to be due to the mating season. However, he has now developed a slight wheeze. Should we take him to the vet. If so, can anyone advise the best way to locate a vet in our area of North east Kent. |

Posted - 16/05/2010 : 19:35:43 thank you. Yes, looks like I need to find a vet then. I will try to contact my local vets and see if they can recommend someone. I can't think of anything that I have changed and the temperature appears to be constant so let's hope it's nothing serious. |

Posted - 16/05/2010 : 18:56:50 Hi I agree that the not eating is probably down to the mating season. I would certainly find out if there's a rep vet near you. You could start by ringing your local vets, a lot of them do keep details of reptile specialists in case clients ask. Also try a google search. Do you have a local reptile shop that you could ask? Have you changed anything in the snakes vivarium? i.e the substrate that may have increased the humidity levels? Have you tried a search on here for snake wheezing? My own personal rule with all my pets is 'better to be safe than sorry, if in doubt talk to your vet' a single telephone call may solve the problem, you never know? Best of luck, let us know if we can help more. |
