My daughter's 2 yr old male conrn snake has not eaten for 5 weeks which we believed to be due to the mating season. However, he has now developed a slight wheeze. Should we take him to the vet. If so, can anyone advise the best way to locate a vet in our area of North east Kent. |

Hi I agree that the not eating is probably down to the mating season. I would certainly find out if there's a rep vet near you. You could start by ringing your local vets, a lot of them do keep details of reptile specialists in case clients ask. Also try a google search. Do you have a local reptile shop that you could ask? Have you changed anything in the snakes vivarium? i.e the substrate that may have increased the humidity levels? Have you tried a search on here for snake wheezing? My own personal rule with all my pets is 'better to be safe than sorry, if in doubt talk to your vet' a single telephone call may solve the problem, you never know? Best of luck, let us know if we can help more. |

thank you. Yes, looks like I need to find a vet then. I will try to contact my local vets and see if they can recommend someone. I can't think of anything that I have changed and the temperature appears to be constant so let's hope it's nothing serious. |

If the Trinity Vet Centre isn't near you in Kent they might be able to give you details of any other rep vets nearer you, or offer advice and some pointers to consider. It might be worth giving them a ring or email them? |
