Is there anyone local to me, Suffolk, IP14 3NW, that has in prolapses in female corns that could maybe come and help Cindy. Cindy has laid one more egg 10 days after laying the infertile clutch. She shed friday was fed saturday first thing then at lunch time laid an egg and prolapsed. I get the feeling that there maybe an egg stuck and the prolaspe is oviduct with egg in it. The prolapse itself is about the size of a small walnut and does look egg shape and feels like the firmness of an egg. I can get her to a vet tomorrow but not a reptile specialist so guess they will put her to sleep as they tend not to do snakes and I can't drive so travelling is a real issue. Have had her in baths of sugar water and applied ky jelly and kept her on newpaper. She regurged the mouse last night, to be expected, but still looks bright in herself. I am gutted/devastated. She was not mated so it just makes it even worse really.

Sadly I had Cindy put to sleep. She had done alot of damage to her internal parts and on the vets advice I had her put to sleep. Absoultely devastated but I know I did the right thing for her.

Good luck, hope the vet can sort her out.
kdlang Posted - 02/07/2012 : 08:56:36

My sister has returned early from her weekend away so she is taking me to stowmarket vets to see a vet that has an interest in reptiles so fingers crossed. Cindy's appointment is at 1:20pm so fingers crossed he can help her.

Let me know if you need a lift anywhere, I'm only 30 minutes away from you so wouldn't be any problem to help with transport
kdlang Posted - 01/07/2012 : 19:27:16
go on the facebook group. there will be more experienced people on there. There may be someone local who can help even if it's to help with transport to a rep specialist. Where are you red?

I'm sure it's because the vaseline is petroleum based and the KY is water soluble.

Sound advice.

It might not work the same with snakes.
