Dear Friends,

My lovely corn snake's stopped eating from 3 weeks ago. I know that this might be normal due to the breeding season, as he is hyper active and looks absolutely healthy.

But I've started become worried as I felt that he is lighter than before, when I tried to lift him up today.

He is usually out of his cage at least 2-3 hours a day and going around my flat freely and he never wants to get back to his cage and moving around without getting tired. He seems healthy and happy.

Could you please advice!

That answers my question then - 4 year old male (had for about a year) feeds every week. Suddenly stopped eating 2 weeks ago and has become very active.. very unusual for him. Was starting to worry something was wrong.. reading all the answers above relaxes me now

Thanks

Voldemort loves it when I take him outside. He tangles himself in the grass!

Thanks for all your helps.
I took him out and let him free on the grasses, he really enjoyed it. He seems even happier :)

Thank you so much for your advices, I feel much better now.
Just another question, I was thinking to take him out in the fresh air and let him free on the grasses 2 days a week. Do you think this is a good idea?

As a33 said.... theres not much to worry about.. only a significant weight loss over a long period of time is something to worry about. Just continue to monitor the weight etc and hopefully your little dood will start eating again soon 3 weeks isnt a long period of time for a 2 year old snake to go without food.

What age is he?

I doubt if you could accurately tell if he has lost any weight in the space of 3 weeks. Big T didn't lose anything noticeable after 17 weeks fasting. As long as he is active and not showing any other adverse signs don't worry, it is normal for a snake.
