Well, every snake needs a loving home, so unless you're bothered about breeding them it doesn't really matter if either carry the gene for stargazing or what morph they are. If you like the look of them and it's a good price for snakes you'll enjoy, then get them :)
DHamilton Posted - 11/07/2012 : 16:46:14
i really dont know nexi my buddy got them from some one who needed to rehome them, now he wants to because he has boas he just did his buddy a favor and took them off his hands

Pictures of an okeetee here: http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/species/elaphe_guttata/okeetee/?sid=
I think it's a normal. It looks exactly the same as every other snake that's been pointed out as a normal, and I've seen some normals with thicker bands than that.

Regarding the sunkissed; isn't that the morph that potentially carries the gene for stargazers? In which case not a desirable trait at all unless it's been tested for it and come up clear.

I just saw a 'sunkissed' could the okeetee possibly be one? i dont know ive never owned corns and i havent seen these in person so i dont know how true to colors that photo is
DHamilton Posted - 10/07/2012 : 21:56:50
riight but id be disappointed if he didnt keep the black or grey ish color and turn out to be more of a brown but who knows :3 my friend needs some one to take the corns sooo i might as well take them off his hands :D

haha i can tell, they look like healthy pudgers :D

Georgina Posted - 10/07/2012 : 20:50:05
i do not recal a morph called black motley? defo two beautiful snakes, amel and normal. and you can rest happy that they are keen feeders :)
DHamilton Posted - 10/07/2012 : 20:45:25
i was also considering just buying the tank, and the amel from him then ordering a black motley from bhbreptiles different enclosure for sure seeing as it would be a baby
DHamilton Posted - 10/07/2012 : 20:43:44
I and the owner are pretty sure they are both female, or other wise both male they have lived in the same enclosure their entire lives and they have never had a squabble they are just about 3 feet i believe he said, i wanna get the 20 long for right now, and eventually get a larger :D but i think i want both, i thought the amel was pretty, and it is a cell phone pic so who knows how true to color it is. He was told it was an okeetee but it does look quite a bit darker then a normal to me but i agree it dosent have as thick of bands
eeji Posted - 10/07/2012 : 20:36:10
if you are planning on getting both then you'll need another enclosure. A 20 long is bordering on just about big enough for one, and too small if they are good size snakes.
smart bunny Posted - 10/07/2012 : 16:50:08
If you are not 100% certain they are both females then it would not be a good idea to cohab them if that's what you mean by getting both? As the others have said, that is a normal, not nearly thick enough borders to be called an Okeetee. They are both lovely snakes though, if a little on the chubby side - will need to go on a diet when you get it/them :)

Good luck making your decision!
Red123 Posted - 10/07/2012 : 16:46:04
Both nice an amel and a normal :) Both look as though they have been well fed ;)
ScalySituation Posted - 10/07/2012 : 16:37:28
thats what i was thinking kev, black borders arent half as thick as they are on an okeetee
kev 5 Posted - 10/07/2012 : 16:36:07
might be wrong but it looks like an amel and a normal to me
