Posted - 28/04/2010 : 14:47:32 The one out of focus is blurry cos of digital zoom, i took the pic on my phone, its a common Adder. The one under the sharp is a normal bci, but i think she was bcc x bci. |

Posted - 28/04/2010 : 05:29:13 I just dont know what to say! You are an amazing camera man Mike and it is lovely you sharing your pics with us (although I will admit to feeling slightly overwhelmed .....and did we really need more rats !!!)
Would be great if you could put up what each snake is for those of us who are useless at the different types of snakes. What is the first snake in your latest lot of pics....the green one that is slightly out of focus? And also the snake under the pic of your Sharp Albino BCi? It is gorgeous.
I cant believe how much baby K has grown from when she was curled up in your hand , it is lovely to see.
The 19th pic is beautiful, as is the 2nd one after it with the tongue flicking over the nose!
I also cant get over the colour change in your python (I think ) between its body that is fairly dull and its tail that is so vivid.
Where was the bridge over the river taken? Anywhere nearby? It is beautiful. And I love your moon and firewords pics.

Posted - 23/04/2010 : 05:07:19 I am speechless . So many pics and I have no idea where to start! And hopefully more to come !! I knew you had quite a collection but actually seeing them like that is.....*lost for words*. You must spend your life feeding and cleaning and handling....do you ever get the chance to sleep ?!
The boa on the grass and round your body is awesome, only word for it. I am not a fan of them usually but she just has such a gorgeous pattern.
I love the pic of the striking corn, that is one feisty fellow!
I also love the colouring of your metallics....cant wait to see pics of their babies.
The pics you have of your Surinam Bcc are amazing, that is a beautiful snake.
The first pic in your post on the 22nd is a beautiful snake but I have no idea what it is....is it the colombian rainbow that Danny mentioned and you no longer have?
You found Nemo!!
Your black pine looks evil , I am not surprised he is called Mr Stroppy....and at over 7ft that is a lot of stroppy snake!
Baby K isnt such a baby any more, I bet you cant believe she used to curl up in your hand like that!
Rats....hmmm....me and rats dont get on I am afraid, although I do like looking at your pics of them , especially Granny Rat 'busting a move' !

Posted - 21/04/2010 : 22:27:49 Its usually about 110 days from the ovulation shed, so its a good 3 months and then a little bit. Their ovulation is quite obvious, they swell up quite a lot, the male needs to stay with her until she drops really, they are never truely pregnant until they drop, much higher chance of getting babies that way. A lot of people think the ovulation is the boas being preggers, but its not, the male has to be there at the right time really, otherwise the opportunity is missed. Its not like the corns, where one male can fertilize several females, with boas, its one male to one female, all the way! |
