They're here!!!

I chose a female and a male in the end, although depending on what Tim has ready at Donnie in September I could be tempted to get another female to make a trio...

I've yet to choose names but there's a few I like. Isis and Ra perhaps? I'm open to suggestions

I apologise for the quality (and quantity...) of photos, they are incredibly difficult to photo and very fast.

The female

An idea of size

(note, I don't have particularly large hands - they're just teeny! )

Male

Very interested in the camera

Now for the loooooong wait until I can handle them again, it's going to feel like forever!

I think they'll be far too shy to begin with, if they feed at all. Hatchling housies are renowned for being kind of funny feeders to start off with. However once they start feeding reliably and photos wouldn't traumatise them then I will take some
mjpeters Posted - 01/07/2013 : 22:29:32
Love to see pics of them feeding!
Moppet Posted - 01/07/2013 : 19:21:34
Thanks I've just been to search for some of the tiniest pinkies possible so that I can feed them once they've settled in. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes at the breeder's then I wouldn't believe they could even eat them!

Aw wow, they are so cute and tiddly! Brings back memories of Ollie when he was tiny....er
Fast little blighters aren't they haha!
Moppet Posted - 29/06/2013 : 23:42:01
Thanks for the welcome lotabob. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by how mellow my two seem to be, although the breeder showed me one which had 'attitude' and was striking repeatedly open mouthed, charging all over the place! Quick little things.

mjpeters - believe it or not they can manage a mouse pink! Only just and only a very young one but they're surprisingly stretchy.

Blackcat - thanks for the welcome I think true olives are supposed to be the smallest of the pet species of house snake, I was shocked by how small they were when I first saw them. My two are actually a few months old. Hatched in March and April, so they have grown a fair bit since then! Crazy.
Blackcat Posted - 29/06/2013 : 23:07:04
Yaaay, welcome to the housie club
They are really tiny, thought my Hoggle was small, but he is quite big in comparison.
mjpeters Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:46:22
What on earth do these wee beauties eat?newborn fairy shrew pinks?!!they are sooo small-maybe a leg of mouse pink??
lotabob Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:33:30
Aww yey welcome to team titchy twitchy snake. I remember Hal being that tiny. You've got a cracking pair there, they are great fun to handle fast as lightening but so tiny.
Moppet Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:28:19
I saw them at IHS too, resisted at the time then regretted it so I went down to get some Lovely snakes and he's a good guy too.
Lee Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:19:52
I looked at these at the IHS meeting, really had to hold myself back from buying some. They are beautiful and one day will be mine, oh yes.
Moppet Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:01:51
Thanks smartbunny I know how you feel, after putting these guys away I noticed Titan popping his head out to see what was going on and thought he was huge! He's only a yearling but he is a giant compared to these tiddlers

How old is Hermes now? He's a pretty looking little chap.

The breeder had some hoggies too, only about a day out of the eggs, soooooo cute!
smart bunny Posted - 29/06/2013 : 21:56:29
Ooooh yay, gorgeous little pair you have there Moppet - congrats!! :D Wow, Hermes seems big all of a sudden, and he really isn't lol :P

Awww keep on asking Serena, if you can get a definite male they don't get very big so could hide away in a corner no problem!
Moppet Posted - 29/06/2013 : 20:59:28
Thanks Figs I guess I'm part of team housie now

Serena08 - keep asking. It worked for me

Razee - That's how I ended up with these little cuties...people keep putting up photos of gorgeous snakes
Razee Posted - 29/06/2013 : 20:42:05
Ooooh, they are gorgeous, Moppet. And so tiny! Congrats, what a lovely additions. This is just making me to want even more snakes...
