If I'm not mistaken (lol and I often am!) they used to catalogue snakes as old world if they we're egg layers and new world if they had live young. I think this term went out a long time ago but its a quick way of defining the two types.
I didn't mean to come across as a smart ass lee i call everyone dude (bad habit) and as you quite rightly pointed out we all learn something new everyday....

Thats interesting, thats why i put "i think" because i dont know much about breeding but i learn something new every day,lol

Dude there are many snakes that live bare there young, garter snakes are Ovoviviparous as are many water snakes including some types of sea snake.....

just read it again and it says L. carlae lays a single slender egg that fills a significant portion of the mother's body
lee2308 Posted - 11/07/2009 : 22:34:11
would of thought egg layer,i expect it's colubrid and i think only boas are live bearers, but i could be wrong

Wonder if its live bearer or egg layer?

Nope, definately break it. I'm so clumsy at times, I could cut myself on jelly.
