Silly little Storm seems to only want to eat once every 2 weeks, if that he still not had a shed with me, dont know how long its been since his last one, i have asked for the date, but dont get an answer from rep shop In the time i have had him, he is still only 7g
I have gave him a pep talk, didnt do anything, last week warmed and brained pinkie, thought i had it sussed as he ate right away but again back to ignoring food tonight
Told him he needs to get big enough to eat the cat, maybe that put him off his food......?

Yay! Hmm, may have to break an egg tomorrow. I was hoping not to scent for hoggy as we did have a stretch where he was eating normally without any scenting, but he's only had that one feed for us recently...

Soooo glad Storm is eating for you SBB :D

Aw glad your little fella is happily chomping away now. These boy hoggies are so naughty!
scottishbluebird Posted - 26/09/2013 : 01:10:15
Wasnt luck, he ate it again within 10 mins, looks like i will always have eggs in my fridge! Soooooooo happy right now

Oh, excellent news! I remember what it was - they were dipping pinkies in egg white for assist feeding, to make them tastier and slippery to swallow easily. :-)

I saw a video some time ago, somebody gave their snake an opened raw egg, and the snake was just drinking it! I suppose they'd eat birds eggs in nature...

Brilliant news SBB :D

The raw egg white did the trick, i checked after 15 mins, and was gone!!! will try that again next week, and hope it works again, the dogs also thank you for the egg that they got after it was pinkie dipped! but will still buy the frogs legs when i can, just as a back up!

Phew, Hog's finally ate yesterday, so I really hope Storm does soon too! Still hadn't got around to scenting, just got the mouse as hot as possible without risk of cooking it lol. He was in the middle of his faun and I'd seen him moving about just before so knew he was 'active'. I put it on his hide but checked 10 mins later and he was still hiding under his leaves so... I took them out lol. 10 mins later he still hadn't moved so I pushed the mouse off the hide on top of him and left him again, went back a while later and it was gone!! (I'd just like to point out he is usually left totally in peace and not hassled at all, and he could easily have burrowed into his substrate when I took his leaves away, but I was a bit more insistent this time lol)

Thats great!

And his temp is at 33, and only one shed a year wow!

I will just have to wait till next week and hope my back will let me get to dundee to get those frogs legs

hero has only just come out of a 3ltr rub!!!!!!!!! hes now in a 30x30 exo viv and eating more than hes missing. hes going to be brumated again this year :)

My male hoggie was a nightmare for the first few months, eventually I discovered increasing the temperature could work. What temp is he at, I found mid 30's worked great, I now keep him at about 33. Increasing ambient temp rather than surface temp may work as well. He is a fairly consistent feeder now, don't worry about the shedding, mines shed once in a year.
