I know like us you are having problems with Hero going off his food. I have followed the breeders advice to put Stevie into a small 12ltr tub and to up her temps. We have used a 40w normal household bulb on a dimming stat. Her cool side is now at 28c-29c warm side is 30c and her hot spot is at 33c-34c provided by a statted heat mat. We upped the temps a couple of days ago and I have just offered her something and she ate amongst all the hissing, upping her temps have made her more grumpy it would seem lol. He told me offer something smaller than she was use to eating so gave her a small pinky which she ate and then a small fuzzy. Just though this may be of help to you.

MOD NOTE. moved to correct non corn section

Well that's a funny story really.........

The poor toad was the victim if a savage road traffic accident (not by me) and was left for dead! So I aided the little hit and run victim by.........

Chopping his head if and then dissecting him in to about 10 pieces and freezing him in an ice cube tray :)

At least he donated his body to a good cause

Now that has made me giggle. Poor toady lol.

So James advised to feed hero on my hand as this is how he's used to being fed. I defrosted a pinky in warm water as always and he just ignored it. Ggrrrrr. So I cracked the toad out the freezer and defrosted it. I got some interested but was refusing the pinky point blank. So I got a fluff out and defrosted it with the toad. Popped the smallest bit of toad skin in the fluffs mouth and bam he ate it and then looked confused why he couldn't have another! But yay he ate. He's now 40.5g and hasn't fed for 16 weeks. He weighed 45g when he stopped. He's now roaming his rub for another lol

What a naughty boy he is. Will keep my fingers crossed. Keep us updated as to how it goes x.

Ok so he had a right fit last night! Missed again. We are now going to try 2 hand feeds waiting every 4 days, as this is how he would feed before. Then we are gonna crack the toad out again and see how that goes.

Aww no :( Must be so frustrating for you. Good luck next time xx

I forgot to put that his hit spot was upped to 33.8 sat. I can't have the bulb in him as it stressed him out too much and when I spoke to James he said an ambient of 24 is fine. It's impossible for me to get an ambient gradient as he's in a 3 ltr tub. It's about 5 x 3 inches. I'm gonna try him in 3 days and see :)
