I use a spot lamp and a UVB strip light in my skinks vivs. Do they need to have a daylight tube as well so that it is brighter in the vivs or is this just something people use for there own viewing benefits. Thanks

they'll get enough light through your window (providing the curtains aren't permanently shut!) to get a day/night/seasonal cycle
and providing you're using the correct %age UVB that's that requirement met

Viewing for us is fine with just the UVB and the spot, I was more concerned that its ok for the skinks but I guess that as long as there is a difference between night and day that its ok?

Daylight tube is something purely for our benefits really.
To be honest the UVB should give out enough light for viewing, although that would also depend on how it's setup.
