Spiderman lizard????

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6213807/Spider-Man-lookalike-lizard-is-latest-exotic-pet-craze.html

That is truly an exceptional lizard.

But when it sheds it's skin, is it peter parker underneath??

That guy is a Rock Agama, they was all over the place while we was in kenya, Awsome looking lizards but only got one pic of them :( im pretty sure that pic has been enhanced to make it look more like spidy as the ones we seen had orange heads and were not as vivid. I was askin the guides about it and they said it was that colour all year round.

Not the greatest pic in the world but he was quite far away.

The Dodo for example, because of the size of the bird and the meat it produced it was heavily 'farmed', causing it's extinction. Heavy farming of other species of animal (although for the pet trade as opposed food) could cause the same problems.

Never realised the dodo was farmed into extinction. I know that some animals have been saved from extinction by zoos, but it has been done for conservation purposes - not for our pleasure. xxx

To me that lizard looks rubbish and would never be even remotely close to my wanted list.

I dont know....so many wild animals are being turned into 'exotic pets'. I know at times it is good because of the loss of them in the wild....but with others is it really so necessary to have something 'different' just because it is 'different'? I know I am being hypocritical being a corn snake owner and lover and I think some of the morphs are amazing.....but it does just make me stop and think when I see something like the spiderman lizard. xxx
